Magda Steczkowska
After 12 years of studying in musical schools she resigned from being an altiviolist (?) because of health problems. But mostly because of being lazy. After that she becamse a one of the members of Maryla Rodowicz's band. She was fascinated with the back vocals job at the band and she kept on refusing all propositions of becoming the solo artist - she decided to be a master in the background (Ela Zapendowska described her as one). She recorded over 50 records with major Polish music stars, she also joined them on several tours around the country. After many years, thanks to her husband Piotr Królik, she decided to create a band called Indigo and shortly after that she recorded a record with them, called: "Ultrakolor". Currently under the name of MAGDA&INDIGO she's promoting a new record called "CUDA" which was produced by very well-known producer - Piotr Siejka. In her private life, Magda is a happy Piotr's wife and her daughters Zosia, Michalina and Antosia mom. She loves traveling, music from the movies and classical music, she also loves Italian food, sushi and a lot of cake!
Karolina Sumowska
Karolina Sumowska is a laureate of a lot of Polish and international festival. She put her first steps in the National Theatre in musicals for kids. For over 10 years she's been singing in the "Balbiny" band and worked on Polish national television - TVP 1 "Od przedszkola do Opola" - helping other kids to sing their songs well in hundreds of competitions. She's also a laureate of TV shows like: "Idol", "Droga do gwiazd" or "Szansa na sukces". She majored on the Department of Jazz on the Musical Academy in Katowice. Currently she's working on TVP 2 on "Tak to leciało" TV show. But basically she is her little son's (Kubu¶) mom, she loves Italian and Mexican food.
Piotr Królik
Piotr Królik after a short adventure with musical schools he decided to get deeper and deeper into the mastering his drum skills. He put his first steps in the professional blues-jazz band called Dekiel. After that he was a drummer in Renata Przemyk's band. He spent a few years with the queen of Polish music - Maryla Rodowicz, toured with her around the world. He played in Justyna Steczkowska's band as well. As a sideman he recorded a lot of records with several different artists (Renata Przemyk , Maryla Rodowicz , Justyna Steczkowska , Pod Bud± , Krystyna Stańko and others). He's extremely proud of his biography because he worked with Czesław Niemen. Since 1999 he's a member of the Brathanki group. He recorded 4 records with them - which gained the platinum record and multiplatinum record awards. He's constantly touring with the band Brathanki in Poland and the rest of the world. In 2001 he and Magda created the Indigo group which released 2 records - Ultrakolor in 2003 and Cuda in 2009. Privately he's a happy husband of Magda and a proud father of his tree daughters. His other hobby's except music is sport - football mostly (not only a fan but also an amateur player), besides that he loves to travel and to read a good book.
Tomasz Bana¶
I was born in 5 minutes. I grew a little and played as an attacker in our neighborhood's football team. I also played some tennis and it seemed that everything was great but someday my mom bought an electric guitar for my brother... who didn't want to use it just after a week, so I took and wanted to work in the showbiz. After that I met few cool friends and we started a band... that's how it started. It was crazy, I keep on changing bands and friends too often... I don't know when I'll finally rest and get some sleep.
Word from the editor - Tomasz "Banana" Bana¶ worked with the band Mafia and Andrzej Piaseczny. Currently he's playing in De Mono. He is an author of many hit songs and treasured guitarist. He's been related to the Indigo band since its beginnings.
Kamil Barański
piano player, session musician, producer. He majored on Department of Jazz on the Musical Academy in Katowice (Poland).
He's been working with a lot of great musicians: Kuba Badach, Leszek Cichoński, Jacek Dewódzki, Jerzy Filar, Funky Filon, Kasia Kowalska, Jacek Królik, Thomas Lang, Marika, Dorota Mi¶kiewicz, Krzysztof Napiórkowski, Wojtek Olszak, Wojtek Pilichowski, Krystyna Prońko, Marek Raduli, Grzegorz Turnau, Piotr Żaczek. He performed with: S± Gorsi, Pilichowski Band, ΠR2, Raduli Squad, Mollęda, ¦rubki.
He was a musical director of the Fajfa z jazzem project - a set of concerts recorded by TVP Katowice tv station. He works with vocalists of the Institute of Jazz on the Musical Academy in Katowice.
Since fall 2009 he became one of the members of Indigo. Because of his size he got a new nickname: XXS..
